Hello, I am Betsy Sauther, an award-winning quilter offering longarm quilting services for your lovely quilt tops at reasonable pricing.

My specialties are edge-to-edge swirls, hearts, flowers, fantasy garden mixes, stars, loops, spirals, flames, leaves, teardrops, meanders or any combination of these. I do freehand work, not pantographs.

Prices start at just .015 per square inch for larger quilts, more for smaller ones.

See below for full pricing guide.

Price Guidelines

(Some quilts fall between two price rates.)

Measure your quilt on two sides and multiply to calculate the square inches.

Quilting ($35.00 minimum):

Basic quilting is meanders, leaves, swirls, etc. in a more open format, done edge-to-edge, and begins at .015 per square inch.

Basic plus, a little more fancy, perhaps something different in the borders, and closer/denser quilting begins at .02 per square inch.

A Custom quilt would have special treatments of different areas/blocks, border treatments, denser quilting; prices start at .023 per square inch.

Meanders

Binding:

I can bind your quilt for you!

I do a beautiful double-bias "stuffed" binding that adds beauty, strength and value to your quilt.

You provide the fabric, I make the binding and sew it on to the front by machine, then hand stitch it to the back for $1.80 per running foot. (Other options available.)

Batting: $7.50 per yard.

Thread Charge: $4 and up per quilt.

Other sewing services available upon request.

Preparing your quilt for machine quilting:

-Do not baste or pin.

-Press the quilt top and backing.

-Square up the corners of top and back.

-Make sure backing is 4" larger on all sides!

-If you are providing the batting, please make sure it is at least 2" larger on all sides than the quilt top.

-Check for uncut threads on the top (fabric fibers/threads can poke out from between seams too), rips in seams, etc.

**-Thank you!

My own creation for my Aunt Mary Ann.
Trapunto technique used on a simple quilt made with hand dyed and marbled fabrics. Asian panels quilt I made...got a blue ribbon at the NW Washington Fair, plus a "viewer's choice" ribbon, came in 2nd at the EverGreen Quilters show on 9/13 & 14, 2007
More trapunto and a background stitching technique called "McTavishing" named after Karen McTavish, who developed it. This one won a blue ribbon at the fair in 2006.
